Journaling on my experience as a mixed media artist. I love trying new techniques. You might find anything from altered art like books, tip ins, ATC's, fat books, watercolors, scrapbooking, stamping, cards, antiques, potpourri. I hope to add items you enjoy for sale. I have been dabbling in art since I received my first box of crayons. I especially love the heritage or vintage look. judy

Arttechniques 25 for 25 ATC technique swap

I was creating transparency ATC's for Sherry Hulberts swap on Arttechniqueatcs yahoo group when I had a happy little accident. I was using Ranger Alcohol Inks for the first time and used glossy 4x6 photo paper from the dollar store. I didn't prepare enough so I grabbed another package and did more. Wow did they ever look different ! They dried more separated, with a raised velvety texture, and had dark lines like crackling in them. I had grabbed the matte finish photo paper. The easiest crackling I've ever done and a different effect from the glossy. So that's my technique for the swap!

Bev's spread 2

My Blue Heaven - book pages were distressed using Tim Holtz Denim, then I used a portion of a calendar page of an angel playing a lire, the words are a transparency . Forgive the shine on Heaven please. I also edged this with Golden's Quin. Gold. It adds a richness and brings out the face color. I have since added a piece of trim to the left side that hangs out of the book.
Blue is not my favorite color I seldom use it. I like working in AB's and tend to do simplistic spreads. Comments welcome anytime.

Bev 's AB

This is one layout of spread done with Moon Mists and gold glitter stickers. The printing is on a transparency. One reads The darker the night , the brighter the stars. The other one reads The darkest hour comes just before dawn. It is edged in Golden Quin. Gold. This piece has much depth to it, which unfortunately doesn't appear in the photo.
